Step-by-step guides for saving public videos and troubleshooting links

Supported link types

Which public links Social Saver can analyze — and what we cannot process.

Last updated: August 2, 2026

Overview

Social Saver analyzes public media links from supported platforms. Open the post or video you want, tap Share, choose Copy link, then paste at https://www.zoeapps.tech/powerdownloader and tap Analyze link. If the content requires a logged-in session, is private, or uses an unsupported format, analyze will fail with a clear error message.

Photo and video posts — supported

  • Short-form video posts — copy the link from the post you are viewing using Share → Copy link.
  • Feed posts — single photos, videos, or multi-item carousels; one copied link covers the whole post.
  • Long-form video posts — when still publicly accessible without logging in.
  • Mobile share links — links copied from the app on your phone, as long as the post opens without a login wall in a private browser window.
  • Disappearing posts — only when public, not expired, and viewable without logging in — see the disappearing posts guide

Photo and video posts — not supported

  • Profile or account pages without a link to a specific post
  • Direct message or inbox links
  • Close Friends or audience-limited disappearing posts
  • Private account content you cannot view without logging in
  • Domains outside our supported platforms (TikTok, YouTube, Twitter/X, etc.)

Public video links — supported

  • Watch-page links — copy from the browser address bar after the video page loads.
  • Share links — copied via Share → Copy link from the source app.
  • Short-form video share links — same copy flow as other public videos.
  • Short redirect links — pasted as copied; if analyze fails, open in a browser and copy the final address-bar URL.
  • Public video posts — when the clip is visible without logging in.

Public video links — not supported

  • Friends-only or group-only videos
  • Profile or page links without a specific video
  • Marketplace, Events, or Messenger links
  • Live streams while broadcasting (recordings may work if public afterward)

How to test if a link is public

Open the URL in a private/incognito browser window without logging into any social account. If the platform asks you to sign in or shows "content isn't available," Social Saver cannot download that link either.

Link hygiene tips

  • Copy the link directly from Share → Copy link in the app.
  • Remove tracking parameters if a paste fails — the core link should still identify the same post.
  • Prefer the link from the source app over third-party redirect wrappers.
  • If a share link fails, open the video in a browser and copy the address-bar URL instead.

Example of a generic public post link

A supported link points at one specific public post, for example https://example.com/p/abc123. Your copied link will look different, but it should open the same post in an incognito window without asking you to sign in.
